Sponsorship

Sponsor a place

Support independent writing about a World Heritage site, an itinerary, a country, a region or a theme, and reach the travellers who are planning their visit.

What sponsorship includes

  • A small "Supported by" mark near the top of the page, and a banner at the foot of it with your name, a short line and a link. It is always labelled "Sponsor", and the link is marked as sponsored.
  • One sponsor per page. The banner shows while the sponsorship is active, and afterwards the page returns to the default invitation.

What you can sponsor

  • A site. One World Heritage site's page.
  • An itinerary. One route, such as a ten-day journey through Japan: a "Supported by" mark in its side panel and a banner at the foot of its page. Travellers read itineraries early in their planning, before they have chosen where to stay.
  • A theme. A theme such as "Coasts, reefs and islands": its page, and a mark on every site page in the theme that has no sponsor of its own.
  • A country. A country's page, shown on each of its site pages that has no site or theme sponsor.
  • A region. One of the five regions, shown across its countries and sites that have no narrower sponsor.

The narrowest sponsorship always wins on a page: site, then itinerary, then theme, then country, then region.

What it does not include

Sponsors have no influence over what we write. They cannot commission, approve or edit text, and a sponsored page is written and checked in exactly the same way as any other.

Terms

Length, price and wording are agreed one to one, and we have not published a price list. Send an enquiry and we will reply by email.
